VALL
SINGER & SONGWRITER

VALL is a sassy London based alternative ROCK/POP/SOUL singer/songwriter who initially travelled to London (from ‘Up North’
several years ago in search of work and by a strange twist of fate fell head first into music.
She is a ‘visually engaging’ artist with a highly visible love and passion for live performance and a natural affinity towards her audience. In her laid back acoustic zone VALL is an artist who steps proudly in the footsteps of velvet toned soul/ folksters such as Tracy Chapman & Joan Armatrading while full tilt she exudes the energy and stage presence of a young Tina with a hint of Skin, a tinge of Beverley Knight meets the White Duke - passionate, yet edgy, raw yet polished.
Few would have believed that for several years both on and off stage she had been battling with the life altering and debilitating illness Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (commonly known as M.E or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – artist Seal/ film producer Lord David Putnam/ ‘Seabiscuit’s author Laura Hillebrand/ Olympiad Dame Kelly Holmes...).
After taking a year out, she is ‘chuffed’ to say that she is now fully recovered – a 10 day trek at altitude in Peru at the end of 2008 officially confirmed it - and like a school girl with a Quality Street toffee overload...she is excitedly back on track.
An independent artist heading along the DIY route, VALL is currently promoting her self- penned self financed debut album (scheduling for Feb '11 release).
Along with her exceptionally talented 6 piece band (see musicians), Vall has twice supported UK delta blues/cajun legends (& composers/performers of The Sopranos theme tune) - Alabama 3 & Honey Ryder. Performing on the London showcase and festivals circuits, she has also performed in venues & festivals (La Fete de La Musique) in France.
In this year’s internationally contested UK Songwriting Contest (UKSC) her song ‘Because of You’ was awarded – 2010 Runner Up in the Adult Contemporary category (with past double semi/finalist nominations in Rock/Indie & miscellaneous categories). She is currently writing a song for a French independent film and recently performed (acoustic) at the 1st BASCA/PRS Songfest Songwriters festival in London.
Eager to spread her wings and to share the fruits of her musical labour with the world live, VALL is open to offers of gigs (including additional support slots) across the UK, Europe and worldwide...invitations from international promoters, festival organisers, booking agents, radio presenters welcome...
Whether delivering a full on electric or stripped down acoustic set, be prepared to be swept away by a lush and dynamic mix - of mixed emotions, soaring harmonies and raw passionate energy. No matter the size a great show is always guaranteed!
